Weaving on a peg loom creates a nice, hard-wearing rug. Lengths of warp (twine) is threaded through the pegs and raw fleece is woven between the pegs. The warp holds it all together. It’s a very simple yet clever method and produces the most gorgeous, thick rugs.
We mostly make beside rugs, pet beds or rugs to go alongside a fire. The method can be used to make cushions, seat pads, doormats, hot water bottle covers and much, much more. You can use carded wool, raw wool, blended wool, its a very versatile and forgiving craft! The items are also easily washable which is a must if you have lots of kids and pets like us!
